Because you're mine... I walk the line

One more thing about Aix is that the streets are mostly pedestrian only, so you can not take your car in the center town. The good thing is that Aix is a very small city, and a very pretty one, so walking with one of the must do to enjoy it!

The route from La Mairie (townhall) to the church takes a bit more than 10 minutes, ushers will show you the way, and if you get loss, you can try your luck with the natives with one of the following:
-Ou se trouve l'eglise Saint Jean de Malte s'il vous plait?
-Comment aller a l'eglise Saint Jean de Malte s'il vous plait?
-Eglise Saint Jean de malte?

For the ladies though, think confortable shoes to do the route (tennis shoes with beautiful dress is however not well regarded in France!!!!)

Parking at La Maison Rouge

The evening reception, starting 7.30, will be held at La Maison Rouge, my parents' house. It is located slightly out of town, a 7 minutes car ride from the centre. A map has been provided on the webside, but indications will also be available on the road on the day.

If you were to come by car, you will not be able to park inside the house and should therefore park on the road near the house, this can be done safely on each side of the house as long as you avoid the clearly marked bus stops. You will be able to park from the crossroad with Chemin de la Rose, on the right when coming from Aix, up to Puyricard Chocolaterie, on the right after the house. You can also decide to park in Chemin de la Rose, by turning right a 50 meters after the roundabout (30 seconds walk to my house from the crossroad if you park there).

LE VIEUX PORT

Marseille is famous for its old harbour, at the center of French social life, have a drink, eat some seafood, buy some fresh fish and celebrate/commiserate on the OM games! You can stop on Place Estienne d'Orves for a cup of coffee in the sun. In the middle of the port you will be able to take the ferry boat, the smallest regular shipping line in the world which will take you from one side of the port to the other.

LE PANIER

Perched on a small hill, this is Marseille's oldest district. Start your path from the town hall, located on the Vieux Port, and enjoy getting lost in the maze of narrow streets, feel the atmosphere of a typical Provencal village on Place des Moulins and admire Place Panisses historic building dating from the 17th century ...

LE VALLON DES AUFFES

A picturesque little harbor, nestled in the heart of the hill that hides many colorful boats, the famous "pointus" of Marseilles. To access this secret place, stop on the ledge at the Memorial of the Eastern Army (a bronze statue of a woman with her arms raised to heaven), find the small stairs under the bridge: the port lies below. Do not miss on the best pizza in Marseille,"Chez Jeannot."

NOTRE DAME DE LA GARDE

Emblem of the city, the Basilica of Our Lady watches over and protects Marseilles, hence the inhabitants calling it the Good Mother. Notre Dame has an amazing panoramic view of the city. This is quite a clim and you must take water with you but it is totally worth it!

LE COURS JULIEN

Tags, skaters, hip bars, very nice restaurants, colorful narrow streets ... The Cours Julien is the new trendy area of Marseille. Have a pastis and rest before the big day!
