Because you're mine... I walk the line
One more thing about Aix is that the streets are mostly pedestrian only, so you can not take your car in the center town. The good thing is that Aix is a very small city, and a very pretty one, so walking with one of the must do to enjoy it!
The route from La Mairie (townhall) to the church takes a bit more than 10 minutes, ushers will show you the way, and if you get loss, you can try your luck with the natives with one of the following:
-Ou se trouve l'eglise Saint Jean de Malte s'il vous plait?
-Comment aller a l'eglise Saint Jean de Malte s'il vous plait?
-Eglise Saint Jean de malte?
For the ladies though, think confortable shoes to do the route (tennis shoes with beautiful dress is however not well regarded in France!!!!)

Parking at La Maison Rouge
The evening reception, starting 7.30, will be held at La Maison Rouge, my parents' house. It is located slightly out of town, a 7 minutes car ride from the centre. A map has been provided on the webside, but indications will also be available on the road on the day.
If you were to come by car, you will not be able to park inside the house and should therefore park on the road near the house, this can be done safely on each side of the house as long as you avoid the clearly marked bus stops. You will be able to park from the crossroad with Chemin de la Rose, on the right when coming from Aix, up to Puyricard Chocolaterie, on the right after the house. You can also decide to park in Chemin de la Rose, by turning right a 50 meters after the roundabout (30 seconds walk to my house from the crossroad if you park there).

The best of Marseille
You will find below a few highlights to enjoy in Marseille, courtesy of Marie, many thanks!
Quick overview:
* Visit to the Vieux-Port
* Le Panier, taste a bit of provence and have a look at « Vieille Charité », a must see in Marseille
* Le vallon des Auffes, small hidden port two minutes from the city center, particularly recommending the Pizzas of « Chez Jeannot » (margot's favorite)
* Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, incredible site to look over the entire city, to be climb at sunset!
* Le Cours julien : cool district of Marseille, hype and cosmopolitan
LE VIEUX PORT
Marseille is famous for its old harbour, at the center of French social life, have a drink, eat some seafood, buy some fresh fish and celebrate/commiserate on the OM games! You can stop on Place Estienne d'Orves for a cup of coffee in the sun. In the middle of the port you will be able to take the ferry boat, the smallest regular shipping line in the world which will take you from one side of the port to the other.
LE PANIER
Perched on a small hill, this is Marseille's oldest district. Start your path from the town hall, located on the Vieux Port, and enjoy getting lost in the maze of narrow streets, feel the atmosphere of a typical Provencal village on Place des Moulins and admire Place Panisses historic building dating from the 17th century ...
LE VALLON DES AUFFES
A picturesque little harbor, nestled in the heart of the hill that hides many colorful boats, the famous "pointus" of Marseilles. To access this secret place, stop on the ledge at the Memorial of the Eastern Army (a bronze statue of a woman with her arms raised to heaven), find the small stairs under the bridge: the port lies below. Do not miss on the best pizza in Marseille,"Chez Jeannot."
NOTRE DAME DE LA GARDE
Emblem of the city, the Basilica of Our Lady watches over and protects Marseilles, hence the inhabitants calling it the Good Mother. Notre Dame has an amazing panoramic view of the city. This is quite a clim and you must take water with you but it is totally worth it!
LE COURS JULIEN
Tags, skaters, hip bars, very nice restaurants, colorful narrow streets ... The Cours Julien is the new trendy area of Marseille. Have a pastis and rest before the big day!

Wedding list
We have been waiting for this day since 24 December 2010 (when we got engaged!), so the best present you can get us for our wedding is to book your flight and hotel early and make sure you can celebrate with us on the big day. We really want you to be there, and we are not expecting any other presents.
But if you still want to give us a present, we have set up a honeymoon account with Audley travel that you can access on the following link:
https://secure.audleytravel.co.uk/honeymoons/
reference number: dp95838hm
Any contribution will go towards our 12 heavenly days of honeymoon in Madagascar in july!
And if you prefer to offer us something more tangible, we have set up a wedding list at John Lewis. You can either go to any John Lewis store or access the list online (www.johnlewisgiftlist.com). You'll need our gift list code, which is 503856. The list will open from 12 May (unfortunately you cannot access the list before this date).
Once again, what we would prefer above all is to have you with us in Aix on 23rd June!

Aix en Provence, the enchanted town
I am not biaised at all when I say that Aix is certainly one of the prettiest city you will ever go to! Old windy street, wonderful churches, amazing houses, incredible cafes, delicious restaurants. You can find many information on the city website, in English for the one who need:
http://en.aixenprovencetourism.com/
But listed below are my favourites:
-Saturday morning market, all over town
-Pavillon Vandome, 10 minutes from the centre, can be done walking, very pretty garden and house
-Place d'Albertas (check out the balconies and remember the French libertinage)
-Climbing Sainte Victoire (go early, it does get hot!), by car or by navette
-Going to the Calanque, French rock beach with amazing walks involve
-The villages in the Luberon, Friday, market day in Lourmarin, Vauvenargue and its castle...
-Marseille for a day if you have enough time
And so much more!

Getting around
Aix en Provence is a small beautiful city, and walking is recommended (especially between the townhall and the church, which should take you around 10 minutes, depending on how many stops you make on the way, after all, there is bars, cafes and bakeries all the way, not to mention free wine testing at monoprix on that date).
However, the party will be a bit out of town, and if you don't have a car, I would advise you to book a taxi. Below are the numbers/website for a few companies:
Taxi Aix en provence: 00334 42 27 71 11 http://www.taxisradioaixois.com/
Central Radio Taxi Mirabeau: 00334 42 21 61 61
Olivier Pouillon: 00336 09 34 00 10
